This topic has me a little annoyed, simply slightly happy too. I have had to purchase 3 new charger cords for my Nook, and trust me when I say I'yard careful with it. My grandma also has had to buy 2 in a year. They simply are poorly made and bad quality. Finally, information technology seems Nook has realized this and they told me on the telephone that they are replacing whatsoever cords for complimentary if you call them. No matter if your 1 twelvemonth warranty is expired or not. So telephone call them, don't buy another faulty Nook Charger. Hope this helps anyone save some coin and frustration.For those who wanted to know the problems click below for reviews of many other users who accept complained about the chargers.

Intendance to elaborate some more on the problems with the charging cable? I've had my Nook now for virtually 7 months and have not noticed any problems with my cablevision. message half-dozen: by willaful, dedicated nookworm (new)

I take not had any bug with the charger. What is happening? 
I have had betwixt all my Nooks for some more than than a year...what seems to exist the problem with yours? I have yet to accept a problem. Besides my Nook charger is out in the living room in case my mom is in in that location and wants to charge hers. I have never had a trouble. message 9: by Linda (new)
I have had my 1st generation Nook for over a year and have not had whatsoever issues with the charger. I wonder If I should get an additional one for a fill-in. As with everyone else, I will exist interested in hearing what issues you are having..... I never had any problems with mine, either. I'm curious - which Nook was it?Just I'm glad to know they supercede it!
I've had my Nook color for over a year now and I've never had any problems with the charger, but I'one thousand glad to know that if I practise I don't have to pay for a new one. Thanks for sharing. 
I take had to supercede my UBS string (charger cord). Information technology simply stopped working. Information technology was really weak and bent, so I moved my plug to the bedroom away from the cats. So far, then good. 
My charger didn't actually work initially when I got it - the wall part of it at least. I never bothered with ane of their chargers since the Nook has the standard mini USB slot. I employ either my phone charger for information technology or a Duracell charger that I have. 
I have a friend who has a nook color and his charger just upwardly and quit a few weeks before Christmas. He didn't even think it was the charger but it was, and they just handed him a new one at the BandN customer service counter. His system works similar a charm again. Strange how it went out then suddenly, only glad they resolved the situation easily. 
My LG telephone charger fits the Nook, and so I have used the charger for the ii items interchangably. I didn't take a problem with my Nook charger, but I have the first generation Nook -- can't speak towards Nook color My dogs knocked my Nook Color onto the floor about x days ago (no injury to the Nook--floor has carpet, and it just fell almost 2 ft.). The part of the USB cord that goes into the Nook bent a bit. I was horrified, but, as I live a distance from any Barnes and Noble store, I tried angle it dorsum. It went right back, and I haven't had whatsoever problems (knock on wood). I am keeping my center on it, simply everything seems to exist okay. I've had my Nook Colour for a little over a year, and I've had iii cords. My original cord never charged very well, and finally quit working at all, so I got a new i, which worked, just very slowly. It would charge but information technology would take hours. I got another one, which is what I'chiliad still using, which charges much quicker than either of the get-go two. I never thought almost contacting B & North, but at present I know. If I have any more than problems I volition allow them know. message 18: by Jamie (new)

I've had my Nook Color for about a year & I'm on my quaternary. My 1st one broke in less than a calendar week. I am non a child by any means and then I know how to accept care of my things. I've seen so many complaints about these I tin can't believe they haven't taken care of it long ago. Do they think that Kindle is not a threat? Thanks for the heads upwardly Meg, I'll definately requite them a call. 
I've had mine just over a year and I merely broke my second ane, I was trying to be soo conscientious. The plug bends only where the metallic meets the plastic. Thats what I get for trying to read while it charges. Thanks so much for the advice! message 21: by Katya (new)
I quickly realized that my cell phone has the exact same chord equally the Nook and I was able to option up an extra one for virtually a dollar on ebay. (cell phone chord that is) and it works fine with both Nook 1st Thousand and Nook uncomplicated touch. 
I idea it could damage the Nook to use a non-nook charger with it? It tells you specifically in the directions to just utilise the charger it came with. Any instruction manual for electronics with a charging cablevision will tell you that, they desire you to stick with their overpriced accessories. Wow! I am really surprised. I accept 2 Nooks and 2 chargers. I for over two years and ii over a year. Neither accept EVER given me a trouble and I practise non utilize extra care with them.

I've had my Nook since the offset of July and have had no problems. Me, either. Never had a problem with any of my chargers. 
I've had 2 Nooks and never had a problem with the chargers on either. 
My charger besides went dead a few days before Christmas later owning it for about half-dozen months. I bought a car charger and now use that string for my wall outlet also. I don't recall this cord will final very long either, since information technology came out of the box even more badly aptitude from being wrapped effectually itself too tight. I've heard this has been happening to alot of people. Thank you for the info! Ive had all the nooks so far....i did take a problem with my nook color charger. Always having to jiggle information technology so it would charge. sometimes the slightest vibration would make it cease charging. I have heard alot of folks mutter near the nook color charger for various reasons. mostly that it stops charging.Some take complained of it getting extremely hot. I never had the problem with the 1st generation nook and havent had any with the tablet charger. I retrieve its the nook colour charger that gives the almost problems.If y'all havent had a trouble then you lot got a skilful i. My charger works fine, but my nook color doesn't seem to agree a charge. I charged information technology last night and spent a skillful portion of today reading, and the bombardment went down to nada. I know I didn't read 9 directly hours. I tin't encounter where a new battery would become, then I dont know what to do. I simply got this Nook Colour for Christmas. I replaced 2as well and they still suck! i had to through a fit and they finally sent me a new nook color! and it was a huge fight! the problem was not the chager it is inside the female portion of the nook. when u plug in the male person adapter it is breaking inside the nook. but they sent me a new nc and its fantastic! 
i got my Nook Color in October and have nothing but trouble with the string when trying to connect it to the computer. I took it to a B&N store and of course it connected fine, but the guy told me that when information technology happens next to telephone call the aid line while information technology's happening. Later reading these posts I think I'll call and ask for a new cord. 
I've had my start gen nook for about two years now and I've gone through three cables, two of which were replacement cables. I only got off with customer service and they refuse to replace the cable equally I am exterior of my warrant. Needless to say I'm supper frustrated and annoyed. Who did y'all talk to? lol possibly they'll replace their awful product. 
I have had to supersede my nook color charger twice, the cord at the nook end frayed and BnN replaced it for costless. 2nd time it was the wall function that only stopped working. message 37: past Beth (new)
I also replaced the charger after a year and have not had whatever problems since and I keep plugging and charging all the fourth dimension. I only figured I'd worn the first 1 out 
I've had my Nook since November with no problems. I was surprised yesterday when I discovered that my new phone uses the same charger. I approximate I now have a spare. I'chiliad betting Jeanine that it won't charge your Nook, if you have a Color or a Tablet.

I take a gen1 Nook and I have had it a little over a year and the only upshot I have had with the charger is how loose the connector is and it falls out if I don't put it in the right way. I have a Nook color (that I take had for almost i 1/2 years) and at present when I hook up with usb to the computer it starts decharging. I asked BN about it and no one had ever heard of that happening. I have 3 cords and chargers and have constitute that the just i that really charges the Nook is the original, the one that came with the Nook. The others discharge. I don't know what is happening. I'll exist glad to tell yous the problem.I have had to purchase 2 new charging cables, and, the newest 1 is interim upward.
After finding out the B&N will replace them, I won't buy another ane.
Likewise, the ane that came with the Nook bankrupt.
It does some crazy things. It either won't charge at all, or it charges some. It also will come on past itself while charging. In the center of the night, the light is a bit bright, when you are expecting it to be offl

I exercise know something which might help. If the charging portal was on pinnacle, instead of the bottom, information technology wouldn't become bent then easily. I rest mine on my belly when in employ, and I am certain it probably, over time, isn't good for it.
On the last cord, I took tooth picks and tape and splinted the cable so it wouldn't become bent. Broke just as fast as the other ii.
